two Monday afternoon sections:
Children Age 7-9 (6 with interview): 1-1:50 pm
Teens (ages 10-16): 12:00 - 12:50 pm

We welcome Chris
Jeffery,
our new school representative!
After a 25-year career as a trumpeter with the Air Force
Band, Chris retired with honors from active duty this past April, and
shortly thereafter found a home at McCutcheon Music, on the sales
floor, teaching lessons, and he has now become our school
representative.
With a Bachelors in Music Education,
and experience as a band director, Chris is also versed in related areas
including musical instrument repair, arranging and conducting,
This just in: Chris recently was chosen as a preliminary round
adjudicator, High School Division, National Trumpet Competition 2012

We welcome saxophone teacher
Grant “King” Koeller
to our teaching staff
Grant recently retired after 23 years of service with the USAF Bands. He has
performed for President George W. Bush, The King of Thailand, the Great Rama IX
and played honors for former President Gerald R. Ford’s State Funeral in 2007.
He has performed in Korea, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, England,
Australia, Singapore, Guam, Japan, USA and Canada. He
is looking forward to working with our saxophone students here at McCutcheon
Music! |

We welcome Linda Katz,
a fine, experienced cello teacher -
We are so happy to have Linda on our staff! Linda has been
teaching cello in the Dayton area for over thirty years. She is
principal emeritus of the Dayton Philharmonic and performs with the
orchestra, the string quintet, and is a musician with the SPARK
educational program through the Philharmonic. She has taught cello at
Wright State, University of Dayton and Stivers School for the Arts, and
has attended numerous master classes and teacher training programs in
recent years.
She received a DMA and MMus from The Ohio State University and BA and
BMus from the University of Oregon. |

We welcome the multitalented John Slate to our teaching
staff -John
performs extensively in the area, and is now playing at Carver's on a
weekly basis. He specializes in teaching piano, guitar, and voice
utilizing both traditional and popular teaching methods to instruct
students of all ages and levels, from beginner through professional.
He
holds a
Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Wright State University and
studied Jazz Piano at the University of North Texas. He has been
performing and teaching across the United States and in the Dayton area
for over 20 years, and is currently Director of Music Ministries at St.
Andrew United Methodist Church. |

Stephanie Lytle is a singer and voice
teacher with eleven years of teaching experience. She is a registered
teacher with Music Together and is excited to share her love of music
with children. She holds a B.M. in Music Education from The University
of Dayton and an M.M. in Voice Performance from Kent State University.
Music Together classes for newborns through kindergarteners are starting

Da Capo Guitar Ensemble students Max Lyman, Rachel
Westerkamp, Nicholas Fadell and Matt Shin performed 'live-on-the-air" at
Dayton Public Radio's recent fundraising campaign. They were true
professionals!

Our recent concert at the
Dayton Art Institute
was a great success, featuring the talents of student guitarist Max Lyman, along with faculty Jeff Hufnagle (piano), guitarists James
Murrell, Greg Jones and Jim McCutcheon, Mary Jo Ward (hammered
dulcimer and autoharp), Joy Davis (piano/vocals) and clarinetist Haley Kendall. A good time was
had by all! Our next recital will take place at 1:30 pm on March 25,
2012.
